Goodbye Prophecy World!

Well, today marks the day that Prophecy World is shutting down. It's been a long enjoyable ride we've been up for more then a year now and I felt i've made a lot of friendships, and relationships through Prophecy World. It was something that I enjoyed for a long time, and still do but some great things have to eventually come to an end. We're closing Prophecy World down for a couple of reasons...

We've had a low player count, and pretty sure I only saw 1 player on this month. So the question is, why continue to maintain the server and website when it's only going to be empty? I've met so many great people on this server and it really makes me sad to see this place go... i'd just to take a minute and thank you guys, the players for making Prophecy World enjoyable and what's.

Maintaining the server is also another thing that's been going on. We've basically stopped working on it because what's there to work on? We've barley had any players on so we couldn't get the things we had planned for. On another note, money has also been a problem. Me wondering how i'm going to get the money for the server and the website. This was supported with the donors (thank you), bred, skaty, and me. We haven't had a active forums, because there's nothing to say anymore about the server also the reason why we're shutting down.

Prophecy World has been great, all the people i've met the thing's we've created .... it's been one hell of a ride and it wouldn't have been possible without any of you! You guys are the ones who made Prophecy World what it was and i'll be posting the link to the survival map if you still want to adventure on without Prophecy World.

Bredbar - You were the one who supported the server the most. You've been maintaining console, helping out players, and supporting me with my decisions. You've been really great for us, and i'd like to give my thanks.

Skaty - Thanks for helping us keep the server alive even longer by paying the bills for the last couple of months and being a fun player to play with.

Jason - Your always funny, your a great sport and want to always have fun. Prophecy World wouldn't have been the same way without you!

Nate - You've helped me make decisions and have been a great friend to me with other problems too.

I know i'm missing a lot more people but thank you guys, and hope we continue to talk to each other (feel free to add me on Skype!)

PW Has Updated To 1.7!

Ladies and Gentlemen.

Prophecy World has officially updated to 1.7.X! Get your pickaxes ready, get your friends together and get on Prophecy World and discover the new biomes that 1.7 has brought us. Discover all the new blocks and flowers! Catch the new fishes and discover all the other new stuff!

This update is one of the biggest updates since the 1.0 release. This is why it has taken so long time to update the server because the bukkit developers have been scanning through hundreds and thousands lines of the new minecraft code that Mojang has been refining and perfecting. There will still be a few weeks where there will be server restarts and downtime when we update the plugins to work with the update. So be patient and have fun with the new things we have gotten.

Now that the server has been partially dead for some time we have slipped down on the voting lists. We need you to vote again so we can grow back to our former glory with players on every day. We have plans on maybe adding a few more games but there need to be many players on to make the game funny. It isn’t fun playing spleef alone right? That’s why you need to vote so more players can join and that we one day can play one big game of spleef and have fun!

We have fixed some of the problems and unfairness on the server. One big change is that the ranks Coal and Iron and Lapis no longer has fly mode. That is because we saw way too much unfair things happen like fly kill and so on. We might add that back later but as for now, only Diamond and above has fly.

If you come across a bug or a glitch that can be exploited, please report it to us and we can fix it so everyone can have fun. We in the staff aren’t playing much regular survival minecraft which means that we don’t come across all the bugs you guys might notice, that’s why we need everyone to report bugs! Report them in a comment below or make a forum post or just tell someone in the staff directly.

Voting is necessary for the server in so many ways, and your votes do matter to us quite a lot. You may think to yourself, "My vote doesn't make the server any better off", but you're so very wrong! Right now, Prophecy World is at Rank 82, and we're slowly dropping. If votes don't increase, and drastically, the server will be at risk of diying out. This would mean all of your friends on Prophecy World would be gone, you would be gone, and all of your and our hard work and time mixed with dedication put into this server would be gone. As if it didn't exist. If we don't gain more voters, we wont have many players at all, and the server will be basically dead. Please server daily! We need our vote count to go up!

We use the vote counts to not only go up on the server ranking list, but also to see if people are enjoying the server. More importantly, we use the votes to make the community bigger by adding mini-games such as a The Walls, Hide n Seek Hunger Games, and more! But without the votes, we can't say we feel as though the community is happy with our soon to be new additions.

Some of you vote every day, and you've been rewarded with Top monthly voters and recived a rank upgrade, in game levels and items, and more. Some of you have said that you refuse to vote, but why? We can't improve the server without feedback from the community, so voice your opinions, but don't stop voting. Every one vote lost is equal to 30 votes per month, and 365 votes in a year. That may not seem like a lot, but a single vote can mean the difference between Rank 1 and Rank 2, and that's a big difference on those lists.

Voting also allows us to bring in new members to the community by them watching us go up on the lists, and stay up when we get there. New players to the community means more people on the server, new faces, a stronger economy, more PvP, and everything else players can bring the server, including Donations. With more votes also comes more donations, which means we can add even more mini-games to the server, and we can upgrade the server's host, causing less lag but more fun!
